What do the numbers in a CM model like RD 9'4/97/60/34 mean?
They are the four measurements that decide fitment, in order: bed length, bed width, cab-to-axle, and frame width. So RD 9'4/97/60/34 is a 9-foot-4 bed, 97 inches wide, built for a 60-inch cab-to-axle chassis with a 34-inch frame.
Cab-to-axle and frame width are the two that determine whether a bed fits your truck. Length and width are what you choose based on the work.
How do I find my truck's cab-to-axle measurement?
Measure from the back of the cab to the center of the rear axle. Common chassis dimensions are 56, 60, and 84 inches. On a dually, also confirm the frame width and whether you are running single or dual rear wheels, since that changes which bed will sit correctly.
Easiest path: bring the truck or the VIN in and we will measure it rather than guessing from a model year.
Do you install CM beds, or just sell them?
We install. Our shop pulls the factory box or takes a bare chassis, mounts the bed, and handles the wiring and lighting so the truck leaves ready to work. Buying and installing in one place means one point of accountability if something needs adjusting.
Can I get a gooseneck ball and receiver in a CM bed?
Most deck beds are offered with an integrated gooseneck ball in the deck and a rear receiver, which puts the hitch point directly over the rear axle on a purpose-built structure instead of an aftermarket frame mount.
Specify it when you order. Adding hitch hardware after a bed is mounted costs far more than including it in the build.
How long does a CM bed installation take?
It depends on the truck and the bed, so we quote it when we see the vehicle. Dropping a deck bed on a bare chassis cab is a much shorter job than removing a factory pickup box, relocating the fuel fill and taillight harness, and fitting a gooseneck package.
