What do the numbers in a Bedrock model like 8'6/84/56/42 mean?
They are the four fitment and sizing measurements in order: bed length, bed width, cab-to-axle, and frame width. That model is an 8-foot-6 bed, 84 inches wide, built for a 56-inch cab-to-axle chassis on a 42-inch frame.
Cab-to-axle and frame width decide whether it fits. Length and width are what you pick based on the job.
Will a Bedrock bed fit my truck?
Almost certainly, once we know three things: cab-to-axle length, frame width, and whether you run single or dual rear wheels. Common cab-to-axle dimensions are 56, 60, and 84 inches, and beds are built to chassis measurements rather than to make and model.
Bring the truck or the VIN in and we will measure rather than assume.
Do you install Bedrock beds?
Yes. Our shop removes the factory box or works from a bare chassis, mounts the bed, and handles the wiring and lighting. Buying and installing in the same place means there is one number to call if anything needs adjusting afterward.
Should I add a gooseneck ball and receiver when I order?
If you tow or think you will, yes. Deck beds are commonly offered with an integrated gooseneck ball and a rear receiver, which puts the hitch on purpose-built structure over the rear axle instead of an aftermarket bracket added later.
Specifying it in the build is far cheaper than retrofitting hitch hardware to a mounted bed.
How does a truck bed hold up to Colorado winters?
The bed itself is the easy part. The magnesium chloride on Front Range roads goes after seams, fasteners, and the lighting harness, and bad grounds are the most common problem we see come spring.
Rinse the underside after winter runs, keep the ground connections clean, and repair deck gouges early rather than letting them open up.
