Aluminum Trailers for Sale in Denver, Colorado

Everything on this page is aluminum-framed and on the ground right now, split between our Commerce City lot at 5591 E. 72nd Ave. and the Truck Center at 12524 CR 25 1/2 in Fort Lupton. Each listing shows which lot it is sitting on, so check the location tag before you drive out. If you are weighing aluminum against steel, start with the comparison below, then jump to the brands we carry and the questions we hear most.

Aluminum or Steel? How to Decide

Aluminum costs more up front. Here is when it earns that back, and when steel is the smarter buy.

Go aluminum if you tow with a half-ton truck or an SUV and need every pound of payload you can get, you park the trailer outside, you keep equipment a long time and care what it is worth in ten years, or you run Front Range roads in winter. That last one matters more in Colorado than most places: the magnesium chloride used to de-ice I-25 and the mountain corridors is punishing on steel frames and fasteners. Aluminum does not rust.

Stay with steel if the trailer is going to take daily job-site abuse, you want the lowest purchase price, or you would rather be able to weld a repair yourself. Steel is more forgiving of hard use and cheaper to fix. We stock plenty of it — see our utility trailers and equipment trailers.

The Aluminum Brands We Stock

Load Trail

Aluminum ramp-gate utility trailers with bi-fold gates, in both single and tandem axle. The tandem-axle models carry a higher GVWR while keeping empty weight down, which is what makes them work for crews hauling close to their limit. See all Load Trail trailers.

Black Rhino

Black Rhino builds the widest aluminum range on our lot: the EX Landscape series, the standard Utility series, a Low Pro series that sits closer to the ground for easier loading, and an aluminum tilt deck that removes the ramp entirely. Sizes run from compact single-axle units up to 7-foot-wide decks. See all Black Rhino trailers.

ATC — Aluminum Trailer Company

ATC builds all-aluminum enclosed trailers, and they are the specialist of the three: aluminum is the whole company, not one line in a catalog. If you are hauling tools, a side-by-side, or anything you want locked up and out of the weather, this is the cabinet-grade end of the market.

Aluminum Around the House

Most of these trailers go home with people who are not hauling for a living. A mower and a trimmer down to the far end of the property. An ATV out to the trailhead. Mulch in spring, branches in fall, a kid moving apartments in August. Aluminum suits that life because it is light enough to pull with whatever is already in the driveway and easy to push around by hand when you are parking it against the fence. It also sits outside all winter without turning into a rust project, which matters when you do not have a garage bay to give up. Contractors buy them too, since every pound out of the trailer is a pound of payload you can legally put on. But the homeowner is who we hand the keys to most often.

Aluminum Trailer Questions, Answered

Are aluminum trailers worth the extra cost?

It depends on how you use it. If you tow near your vehicle’s limit, store the trailer outdoors, or plan to keep it a decade, aluminum usually pays for itself in payload, longevity, and resale. If it is a job-site trailer that will get beaten up and welded back together, steel is the better value.

Do aluminum trailers rust?

No. Aluminum does not rust the way steel does — it forms a thin oxide layer that protects the metal underneath. That is a meaningful advantage in Colorado, where magnesium chloride de-icer sits on frames all winter. Steel components such as axles, fasteners, and couplers can still corrode, so rinse the trailer after winter runs either way.

How much lighter is an aluminum trailer?

A comparable aluminum trailer is meaningfully lighter than its steel counterpart, and that difference goes straight into what you can legally haul, since GVWR sets the ceiling. Exact weights vary by model and options — call us with your tow vehicle and what you are hauling and we will match you to the right one.

Can an aluminum trailer be repaired?

Yes, but aluminum welding takes different equipment and skill than steel, so repairs generally go to a shop rather than a job-site fix. Jayhawk Trailers services what it sells.

What size aluminum trailer do I need for an ATV or UTV?

Most single ATVs fit a compact single-axle utility trailer, while a full-size UTV or two machines usually calls for a 7-foot-wide deck or a tilt deck for easier loading. We also keep a dedicated ATV trailer selection.

Which location are these aluminum trailers at?

Both. Every listing on this page shows its lot, either Jayhawk Trailers at 5591 E. 72nd Ave. in Commerce City or the Truck Center at 12524 CR 25 1/2 in Fort Lupton. Check the location tag on the listing, and call (303) 286-7293 before you drive out so we can confirm the trailer is still there.
