What Our Service Department Does
Jayhawk has run a service department since 1992. We repair what we sell and plenty of what we did not. If your job is not listed here, call and ask — chances are we have done it.

Warranty Service
A warranty is only worth what the paperwork delivers. We deal with the manufacturers directly so you are not chasing claim numbers between jobs.
What we do:
- Contacting manufacturers and filing claims
- Warranty on trailers not purchased from Jayhawk
- Processing claims and paperwork
- Pre-authorization inspections
Truck Bed Installation & Upfitting
Swapping a bed is rarely just a bed. Wiring, lighting and storage all have to come back together so the truck leaves ready to work.
What we do:
- Back-up camera reconnection where equipped
- New and used trucks and beds, including OEM when available
- Auxiliary lights and lighting systems
- Tool box installation
Welding
Steel that carries a load has to be repaired properly or it will fail again in the same place. Our welders handle structural work, not just cosmetic patches.
What we do:
- Frame
- Structural
- Dump doors
- Ramp and gate repairs
- D-ring and tie-down installation
- Custom fabrication
- Coupler replacements
- Body repair
- Aluminum repairs
Custom fabrication welcome — bring us the problem.
More on welding →Wiring
Electrical faults are the most common trailer problem we see, and the hardest to chase in a parking lot. We diagnose rather than guess.
What we do:
- Repairs and full rewires
- Diagnostics
- LED upgrades
- Breakaway system testing and repair
- 4-way and 7-way plug replacements
- Big battery and dual battery upgrades
- Solar panels and charging systems
Vehicle Hitches & Trailer Control
The connection between truck and trailer is where safety lives. Hitches, brake controllers and charging all get set up to work together.
What we do:
- Bumper pull and gooseneck hitch installs
- 5th wheel hitches
- Vehicle to trailer wiring
- Trailer charging system upgrades
- Brake controller installs
- Air bag installation
Suspension
A trailer that rides rough wears tires, cargo and axles faster than it should. Suspension problems compound.
What we do:
- Repairs and replacement
- Diagnostics
- Leaf springs, shackles and equalizers
- Hanger repairs
Axles & Brakes
Bearings and brakes are the maintenance items most owners skip until something expensive happens. Repacking on schedule costs a fraction of a roadside failure.
What we do:
- Bearing repacks
- Brake and axle inspections and diagnostics
- Repairs and replacements
- Resurface drums and rotors
- Electric over hydraulic service
- Axle flips
Ask us about an inspection before towing season.
Deck Replacement
Decking is consumable. We replace a single rotten board or the whole floor, in wood or steel.
What we do:
- Single boards to full decks
- Stained decking
- Oak and pine available
- Steel deck repairs and replacements
DOT Inspections
Annual inspections, done properly, with the certification sticker before you leave.
We inspect both trucks and trailers. DOT truck repairs are not completed at Jayhawk Trailers — trailer repairs to pass inspection we handle in house.
What we do:
- Truck and trailer inspections
- Trailer repairs to pass inspection
- Annual certification stickers
Dump Trailer Repairs
Hydraulics, remotes and dump doors take the hardest use on any trailer. We service the whole system rather than swapping parts and hoping.
What we do:
- Dump doors
- Cylinder replacements and rebuilds
- Pump diagnostics and repairs
- Fluid swaps
- Battery and charging system checks
- Wireless remote installations
- Remote and controller replacements
- Scissor and telescoping repairs
- Tarp kits
- Hose replacements
Tires & Wheels
Mounting, patching and replacement, including getting a usable spare back on the carrier.
What we do:
- Tire mounting and dismounting
- Wheel replacements
- Tire patching
- Spare tire install
Enclosed Trailer Repairs
Doors, panels and cargo control take the abuse on an enclosed trailer. Most of it is repairable.
What we do:
- Side panels
- Cargo control
- Door repairs
- Door cable and spring repairs
- Ramp springs
Additional Services
The odds and ends that come up once a trailer is in the bay.
What we do:
- Toolbox installs
- Winch installs
- E-track and cargo control
- Ladder racks
- Manual and hydraulic jack leg repairs
- Hydraulic jack upgrades
- Insurance estimates
